Born on the 13th of September in 1964 into a family of wine growers in south of France's Herault region, twin brothers Jacques and Laurent Pourcel became two of France's best known chefs in a short period of time.
In 1988, with their close friend Olivier Chateau, they opened Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier, which rapidly became one of the region's most well known restaurants.It was at Le Jardin des Sens in 1998 that Jacques and Laurent earned their coveted 3 stars in the Guide Michelin.
Their cuisine resembles them, simple, modern and creative. This holds true to their philosophy that there is no good cuisine without good products. This is why they are constantly traveling and sourcing the best products from farmers, fishermen and breeders. In the same sense, Cafe Francais also sources the best ingredients because the quality of the produce is the most important.
Jacques & Laurent Pourcel have entrusted Café Français’ kitchen to a Chef with a lot of character and innovation, a pure ‘Pourcel product’ who started AT CAFÉ FRANÇAIS in 2016.

Café Français is also about an exciting nightlife, with a lounge bar where our mixologists offer a cocktail menu featuring the classics to the revisited as well as unique creations. The Lounge Bar offers a wide selection of Tapas from 5pm for an early evening of Jazz among friends.
From 10pm onwards, the DJ pumps out a cutting edge mix of Deep House & Nu Disco.
